Insurance
I accept insurance in Massachusetts and Texas but not Florida. I accept Aetna, Cigna, United, Oscar, and Oxford. If you have a health insurance plan with out of network benefits, they often reimburse you 80% of what they deem allowable. However, each plan is different, so it is important for you to ask them the following questions:
Do I have out of network benefits?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
Upon request, you will receive a monthly Superbill via email with all of the information necessary for you to get reimbursed by your insurance company if you have out of network benefits. Note, many clients prefer not to use their insurance for counseling. Insurance companies require a diagnosis in order to reimburse for services which means that your privacy will be decreased. They also dictate the length of treatment which can interfere with the care that you may need.
Payment
Credit or health savings cards must be on file to charge sessions, no show, and late cancellation fees.
Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled counseling appointment and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance via phone or client portal that you are cancelling, you will be charged the full cost of the session. Insurance does not reimburse you for no shows or late cancellations. Fee will be waived for medical emergencies in which written proof is provided.
Good Faith Estimate
Under the law, your mental health therapist must provide you with a “Good Faith Estimate” of how much your mental health services will cost if you do not use insurance. Throughout your treatment, your therapist may recommend additional services such intensives or psychological assessments as part of your treatment that are not reflected in this estimate. These would need to be scheduled separately with your consent and the understanding that any additional service costs are in addition to the Good Faith Estimate. The Good Faith Estimate is not a contract between therapist and client and does not obligate or require the client to obtain any of the listed services from the therapist. If you are billed at least $400 more than this Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or the dispute process, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
